by , under Enrique Tessieri

Migrant Tales understands that some 120 asylum seekers at the Kolari asylum reception center have walked out in protest for the poor treatment they get at the center. There were only four asylum seekers that did not participate in the protest, according to a source.

The Kolari reception center is located 80kms north of the Arctic Circle next to the Swedish border.

“We want help!” was the chant heard from the phone when an estimated 120 people took part in the protest.

Below is a story published in Finnish by Lapin Kansa, the Rovaniemi-based daily, concerning the problems at the Kolari reception center.

Migrant Tales will continue to update this story as it develops.
