Here is an excerpt of Tommi Rautio’s Facebook page about the tragic shooting at a pizzeria in Oulu, Finland, which killed one Moroccan worker and wounded a former owner of the establishment. ”If Janne is the one [who shot the foreigners at the pizzeria] then we should give Janne a medal”
Ossi Mäntylahti writes: “Suggesting a medal to the killer is ill-disposed and irresponsible. I would hope that Tommi Rautio would choose his words better.”
Tommi Rautio continues: “If not Ossi [Mäntylahti] there is already a war going on and in every war [soldiers] are decorated.”
Tommi Rautio is a member of the Perussuomalaiset party Satakunta district board of directors.

….depressing!!!!
Tommi is unfortunately more than just a supporter. He is a member of Perussuomalaiset Satakunta district board of directors. He has also stood as a candidate for the party in national elections.
BTW, my public profile is here:

Hi Ossi, thank you for the information. Welcome to Migrant Tales. I read your writings on Uusi Suomi. Good stuff.
Seems like the Persut are showing their true colours. Too depressing to be true.
I’m on holiday in Asia with my family right now and my distraught wife woke me up with this story this morning. I have no words!!!
What the hell is going on in Finland? Finland is seriously getting dangerous place to live as a foreigner. It seems as though a Hateret virus has spread through population.
This sick guy is spreading panic and war in the minds of weak, so we can have a killings of minorities. Why arent police arresting this mentally drained person? clearly he belongs to psychoward.
This is almost certainly breaking the law. Section 8, (578/1995)
I’d say I feel threatened by Rautio’s public statement on Facebook. Still, chances of seeing the police take action are slim to none. At the very least, he should be thrown out of politics altogether.
This comment of his is highly offensive to anyone with a shred of sensibility or humanity about them.
As is becoming a habit of late, I begin by sending my condolences to the families and friends of the victim(s). I also wish the second person shot in this incident a quick and full recovery!
Thanks Mark for your post above. I was about to do the same thing. Sadly, the police do seem to do little to when it comes to taking action of this sort. However, if ALL those who feel threatened by Rautio’s public statement make formal reports, they may sit up and take notice!
Everyone, ‘native’ or newcomer, has the right to live free from degrading insults, discrimination, or the threat of violence. We cannot let those who are xenophodes and racists hide behind the cloak of “immigration critical” views anymore.
I will be doing everything I possibly can to ensure that people sit up and take notice of the hatred that Rautio and those like him wish to spread!
Mark and Peter, I hope that something is done. There are limits to “free speech” especially if we condone and encourage violence against another group.
The test for Soini and the PS leadership is whether Rautio is expelled from the party, or simply given a slap on the wrists – getting suspended for a couple of weeks perhaps.
Hi Instand Kaamos, let’s hope not!

Thank you Peter.
This raises the question of whether the gunman acted alone.
Hi, I live in Colorado in the USA. Finland is very rarely in the news here. I suspect that this Rautio jerk’s comment is very hurtful to your country’s image in my country. He has knocked you off any moral pedestal you may have earned in the past.
Hi ed archer and welcome to Migrant Tales. Unfortunately this must be the case but a lot of credit should be given to the Perussuomalaiset party, which Tommi Rautio is still a member of.

Glad that you guys are noticing what’s happening in finland to minorities over there in the usa.
Situation is sick for immigrants nowadays and politician are silent go figure.
In any other country in the world, strong and immediate disciplinary action would have been taken against this public figure for inciting racial hatred. Unfortunately here in Finland, we are yet to hear his party leader condemn his actions. This man is urging white Finns to go out and kill ethnic minorities in the society, yet no other politician has the balls to publicly speak out against it!
Those racist white Finns should be monitored by the Finnish police, but they are clearly not. Instead, the police is busy wiretapping immigrants’ phones for no reason other than the fact that the immigrant has a non-Finnish name.

You said it! This, I think, is the saddest matter. It shows the calibre of our politicians and why the PS and racism have grown in Finland. Even Soini won’t comment.

Soini will not comment and condemn this ps plitician , becus he clearly accepts this. Silence is another form of approving. So we’re in a sad situation right now.
I am going to retrait from my initial comment that soini is not condemning the comment made by Tommi rautio. According to Iltalehti Soini is condemning wich is ehtical of him to do.
I am glad that Soini has said that Rautio’s praising of this murder was racist and disgusting. He tries to deflect damage from his own party by saying that all the parties have racist in them, but he must surely realise that his party is attracting rather more than most.
Still, maybe now that the leader has spoken, the Hommaforuum crowd doing damage limitation on this site will actually come out and condemn the comments by Rautio and all the killings in recent weeks. I won’t hold my breath, though!
I’m also glad to see that on the Itlalehti story, comments on the possibility of him being thrown out of PS reflect their disgust.
